When we first spoke, he let me know that he was completely serious about doing anything—no matter how crazy or insane—that could lead us out of our current situation. A way out.

[ But the shock dissipates only a few moments after and he leans back again, closes his eyes for a moment, and lets out a soft breath. ]
He had promised me he would take any measures possible to give us an exit. [ He smiles, in spite of everything. ] You were right to trust him, friend. If anyone would carry forth a wish like yours, 'twould be him. I've caught glimpses of the selflessness and determination that lies underneath his outermost layers.
[ he didn't know what he could have expected from g'raha but the reaction he gets is one that warms his heart (does his hat self have a heart??) and he would be grinning ear to ear if he had a mouth to smile with. ]
He's an interesting guy. [ a pleased hum. ] When we all confessed to something we'd be judged for, he confessed to something that would be irredeemable for the majority of people and it probably is.
However, he didn't shy away from his actions nor about shifting the blame onto anyone else. He accepted the consequences of his actions and earnestness in what he does.
[ he chuckles, brightly. ]
He and I have a fair bit in common in that regard.
'Tis what I like most about him. He accepts the full consequences of his actions and carries no ire for those who cannot abide by them.
[ He respects that about Blade a lot, and it's what ultimately drew G'raha to him. ]
There is... another, more selfish reason that I am glad he was not caught. I plan on assisting him with his memory when we are finally set free. Knowing that he walks with us now leaves my heart feeling at ease without fear that he will not make his way back to this realm.

Personally, I've never thought much of wanting to live forever. As long as I'm able to accomplish what I set out to do then I'm content with that.
